Phyllo pastry burekas

  • large potatoes, peeled and cut into even cubes 4
  • butter 3 tablespoons
  • phyllo pastry 1 pack
  • spinach chopped coarse 1 cup
  • Table salt
  • Bulgarian cheese, shredded 100 gr
  • Egg 1
  • Olive oil
  • garlic clove crushed 1
  • White pepper
  • Double cream 130ml


Place potato cube in pot with cold water bring to boil for 20 minutes

Strain add cream and butter, salt and pepper, leave to cool

On heated skillet fry spinach and garlic with a little olive oil, cool

Combine in mixing bowl, spinach, potato puree, cheese and mix well

Heat oven to 180 c.

Spread 2 sheets of phyllo pastry cut lengthwise, grease pastry, on each pair of pastry sheets place a little bit of the mixture, roll and transfer to greased baking tray.

Brush with whisked egg, add sesame

Place in oven for 10-15 minutes
