Potato puff pastry (burekas)

  • Salt
  • butter 2 tablespoons
  • Onion peeled, halved and sliced 1
  • potatoes, peeled, cut into even cubes 4
  • Puff pastry, defrosted overnight in fridge, cut into squares
  • Egg 1
  • Black sesame


Caramelize onion of hot greased skillet

Place potato cubes in pot with cold water and boil for 15 minutes till soft

Strain, transfer potatoes to mixing bowl and add butter and onion, mix and cool

Heat oven to 180

Spread the pastry on working top, place a teaspoon of filling on the edge of each pastry square, fold pastry over filling and press closed gently, transfer to oven tray lined with baking paper, brush with whisked egg and sprinkle black sesame. Bake for 20-25 minutes
