Shepherd’s Pie

  • Minced meat 500 gr
  • carrot finely diced 1
  • onion finely diced 1
  • yellow bell pepper finely diced 1
  • tomato puree 2 tablespoons
  • canned crushed tomatoes 4 tablespoons
  • olive oil 6 tablespoons
  • sliced garlic cloves 3
  • smoked paprika 1 tablespoon
  • BBQ sauce 4 tablespoons
  • cocoa 1 tablespoon
  • white pepper ¼ teaspoon
  • Salt and pepper
  • peeled and deiced potatoes 6
  • butter or olive oil 50 gr


Heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot and add meat fry to seal and brown, remove meat to separate plate, into the same pot add 3 tablespoons olive oil, onions, carrots, yellow pepper , garlic,

Mix well for 5-7 minutes add the tomato puree, paprika, BBQ sauce, crushed tomatoes and cocoa.

Mix well for additional 5-7 minutes add the meat with it’s juices.

Meanwhile add potatoes to cold water in a pot and cook for 20 minutes

Strain potatoes when ready add butter, salt and white pepper. Mix well

*Serving suggestion – in personal bowls or a main dish place the stew on the bottom add the mashed potatoes on top and grated cheddar cheese on top.
